- The security system
- -------------------
- Note: The CDROM version uses a separate security system tied to the actual
- disk and does not need to be registered online.
-
- First of all we apologize for any confusion or annoyance the system
- causes, we want you to have the best experience possible when playing
- Moonpod games. When downloading full versions we must protect our
- investment if only so we can keep on making great games for you. To stop
- the small minority of people who casually copy or share registration
- codes, Moonpod games must be locked to a specific computer before the
- full version can be played. By accepting the license agreement you agree
- to the security process. The system we use is in operation on many of the
- larger download sites and is becoming quite common. Here is a description
- of the process, it is assumed you have an active Internet connection;
-
- 1. download the demo
-
- 2. from within the game registration screen click "buy now" (after
- buying the game you will be emailed a password that you can use
- to get into the members are of the website)
-
- 3. from within the game registration screen click "register now", you
- will be taken to the member login page of the website. Use your
- password and email address to log in. Once logged in you can
- submit your challenge code (automatically entered for you). A
- response code will then be emailed to you.
-
- 4. from within the game registration screen paste the response code
- in, the game will now unlock and you can play the full version.
-
- The game generates a challenge code that uniquely identifies your computer
- this is then used to generate a response code that unlocks the game
- permanently. The challenge and response codes are safe because they
- specifically refer to your computer and wont unlock the game for anyone
- else. If you can't follow all 4 steps in game then just write the codes
- down and complete it manually (i.e. you need to register on another
- machine or have no local Internet connection). If you have any problems
- then contact us at support@moonpod.com we want to help.

- Running in a window
- -------------------
- If you would like the game to permanently run in a window you need to
- open the starscape.cfg file in a text editor.
-
- change the line:
- r_forcewindowed false
-
- to:
- r_forcewindowed true
-
- We don't recommend doing this, but some people with LCD monitors have
- reported a problem running fullscreen at 640x480 resolution.
